The largest animal on Earth is the blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus). Blue whales are massive marine mammals and can reach lengths of up to 100 feet (30 meters) or more. They are known for their enormous size and distinctive blue-gray coloration. Despite their massive size, blue whales primarily feed on tiny shrimp-like animals called krill, using baleen plates in their mouths to filter them from the water.
